There has been a church located in Porterstown for many centuries that has been dedicated to St Mochta. The current Gothic styled Church building was constructed at the end of the 19th century, circa 1890. It is located on the Luttrellstown Road where the surrounding community has grown considerably over the past decade or two. It is a very popular location for weddings and the church is kept in very good condition. The Church can hold a sizeable congreation of over 300 people. There is a gallery located at the rear of the church and is accessed by a cast-iron spiral stairs. There is an organ located on the gallery, however it would appear to have seen better days. The acoustics of the church are very good. The church is nicely decorated with stained glass windows dating from over the past century.
