This wonderful piece of Renaissance organ music is played by me on the 1896 George Benson organ of St. Joseph’s Church, Glasthule, Co. Dublin, Ireland. The recording was made under constraints of time and interruption, so is by no means a concert performance.
The registrations used are:
Variation I: Great Organ: Stopped Diapason & Clarabella 8′ Harmonic Flute 4′
Variation II: Swell Organ: Open Diapason 8′
Variation III: Swell Organ: Lieblich Gedacht 8′ (played an octave higher)
Variation IV: Swell Organ: Lieblich Bourdon 16′ Open Diapason 8′ Gemshorn 4′ Mixture 3rks
Variation V: Swell Organ: Hautboy 8′
Variation VI: Swell Organ: Lieblich Gedacht 8′ with Tremulant and Swell to Pedal coupler.
